HARVEY'S BRAN BREAD

If you are feeling a little nostalgic and want to cook an old fashioned recipe this is the one, this  recipe was published in 1951 in the Favorite Recipe book  of Pleasant View.  This bread is easy to make and full of fiber.  Save your soup cans because that is what you cook this bread in. It is so good that I can eat a loaf by myself when it is still warm right out of the oven.  YUMMY!~
I usually double this recipe and get approx 5-6 cans depending on the size of the can.

1C all bran prepared cereal
1C flour
1/2 C sugar
1 T molasses
1 tsp soda
1 C sour milk (buttermilk)
1/2 C raisins
nuts if desired
Combine the above ingredients and stir only until blended.  Pour into greased soup cans, about 3/4 full, bake in moderate oven (350) for 45 minutes.
