LEON'S RAISIN BREAD

FOR YEARS MY MOM WAS THE BREAD BAKER IN OUR FAMILY. SHE MADE BREAD WEEKLY THE OLD TRADITIONAL WAY, MIXING IT WITH HER HANDS, WAITING FOR IT TO RAISE, AND PUNCHING IT DOWN AND WAITING IT TO RAISE AGAIN. HER BREAD WAS THE BEST. WHEN MY DAD RETIRED, THEY GOT A BREAD MACHINE AND DAD STARTED TO MAKE THE BREAD. HE EXPERIMENTED AND CAME UP WITH A RAISIN BREAD THAT IS GREAT, HE MIXED HIS BREAD IN THE BREAD MACHINE ON THE DOUGH CYCLE AND THEN PUT IN BREAD PANS, LET RAISE ONE FINAL TIME AND BAKE IN THE OVEN.

IN BREAD MACHINE

ADD

1 1/8 CUP WATER

3 C FLOUR

1 1/2 TSP. SALT

3 TBLSP SUGAR

1 1/2 TBLSP. BUTTER

1 1/2 TBLSP. DRY MILK

1 TSP. CINNAMON

2 1/2 TSP. YEAST

1/2 CUP RAISINS

MIX IN BREAD MACHINE ON DOUGH CYCLE AND LET IT FINISH WITH FINAL RISE.

PUNCH BREAD DOWN ON FLOURED SURFACE, PUT IN GREASED AND FLOURED BREAD PAN. BAKE 400 DEG. 1/2 HOUR
