CLEANING UP INSIDE AND OUT

I don't know about you but after the holidays are over I am still piecing on all that leftover junk that is still lingering in the fridge and cupboards and because I dont like to waste I eat.  But the time has come to clean out the fridge, throw away the junk and start clean, inside and out.  I am going to start back on a green smoothie everyday and also going to dust off my juicer and include some juicing which really sounds refreshing right now especially since I can't remember the last time I had a full serving of fruits and veggies during the day.  Here is the link to my favorite green smoothie http://swanerfamilyrecipes.blogspot.com/2012/04/green-smoothies.html

Juice Recipes

Melon Detox
1/2 of any melon.
Cantaloupe is a cancer fighting drink and tastes amazing


Stomach Soother Detox
5 carrots
2 apples
12 spinach leaves


Dr. Oz Green Drink
1 lemon
1/2 cup of parsley
chopped 1 rib of celery
1 pinch of peeled ginger
2 big handfuls of spinach
1 cucumber
2 apples

Juicing tips

1. If you can, buy organic. It makes your juice beverage taste sweeter and comes without pesticides.
2. Cut the rinds off citrus fruit so it is not too bitter.
3. If you don’t want a mess, don’t forget the lid. Sounds crazy but it has happened.
4. Drink plenty of water, up to a gallon a day, so you don’t get dehydrated during a 24 hour juice detox.
5. Make sure you talk to your doctor before you start any kind of juice detox (after all, I am a mom- not a health professional)
6. Don’t make juicing a chore. Make enough juice for a 24 hour detox and put it in mason jars to store in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. This way you won’t be making a mess everyday.
